‘Bogle & Shakara’ is a live art performance inspired by African-Caribbean dance culture and fashion design. The ankle shakers are made with a discarded inner bike tube found on the roadside in Vancouver, Canada. Chanelle is motivated by the sounds, movements and adornments of her upbringing and culture, whilst celebrating the resourceful practices that have influenced her choice of material and equally shaped her livelihood.
This dance took place in iy'a'l'mexw, Squamish (unceded territory).
